This site sets no tracking cookies and runs no advertising trackers. We count visits ourselves: which page, where the visit came from (X, Google and so on), the country, the kind of device, how long the page was open, how fast it loaded and how much of a video was watched. To count unique readers we keep a scrambled code made from your connection and browser that changes every day, so it cannot follow you from one day to the next or be turned back into your address. Nothing is shared with anyone.

Tips you send, and their attachments, are seen only by the newsroom. We keep them for as long as we need them for reporting and then delete them. We store a one-way hash of your IP address only to limit abuse.

Embedded players from X, Kick and YouTube load only when you press play, and their own privacy policies apply once they do.
