In a lengthy post on X, Fousey explained that he had spent months preparing for the competition through strict dieting, daily workouts, cardio, and posing practice. However, over the weekend, he said he began eating uncontrollably, continuing even after he was physically uncomfortable and no longer enjoying the food.

Fousey described feeling as though he had lost control, admitting that part of him wondered whether he was subconsciously trying to sabotage months of preparation. He also questioned whether the pressure to perform and fear of disappointing himself had contributed to what happened.

After the first episode, Fousey said he informed his coach, Chris Elkins, about everything he had eaten. They discussed moving forward and reassessing the situation day by day. Although Fousey returned to his regular routine the following day, he said he experienced another binge that night, which he described as even worse.

The aftermath left him feeling physically uncomfortable and disappointed. According to his post, he was approximately 10 pounds heavier than before the weekend and was now uncertain whether competing in just five days was the right decision.

His coach reportedly believes competing is still an option, but Fousey is considering postponing the competition until November instead.

Beyond bodybuilding, Fousey acknowledged that the experience had forced him to reconsider the pressure he puts on himself in everyday life. He described constantly working, thinking about what comes next, and spending too much time on his phone, leaving himself little room to rest.

Regardless of whether he competes this weekend or postpones, Fousey said he intends to prioritize sleep, take meaningful breaks from social media, allow himself time to recover, and seriously reassess his relationship with food.

Fousey made it clear that he does not have everything figured out yet and does not want to turn the experience into an easy motivational story. For now, he is trying to understand what happened and determine the best way forward.

He has not yet made a final decision about whether he will compete this Saturday or postpone until November.
